Thanks for coming back for a bit more regarding PowerApps development. If you have not read our first part – please find it here.
The first page of the app has now been completed and it is now in the testing. This coronavirus app will be available on all smartphones. Although I have been testing this on my Apple iPhone 11 max.
So since our last post, we have:
- Created the UI and ironing out some little design flaws as we go.
- Used and created custom components within our App.
- Connected the first screen into the data source (Part 1)
- Created the code to filter the data and get the correct data on the mobile app

You can see that on image 1 and image 2 the idea for the user interface is simple. One of the main design specifications was simplicity. When you enter the employee number in the box, the correct person is displayed on the screen. Again this is done so that there is no need for clicking buttons for no reason.
The drop shadow custom component and all the buttons have been coded by us – to make it fit more with the specification we are working on.
Come back soon and check out Creating a Coronavirus Testing App: Part 3 – this is where the main question screen will be created and how the data is stored. Exciting…
